Wonderful meal
My name is Claretta . My husband Brett and I were fortunate enough to read about the review in Southern Living magazine. We dined at JR Steamers the last week of June as we were having a weeklong anniversary celebration. We visited Gulf Port, Biloix, Bay St. Louis and Kiln.... before traveling to New Orleans..... of all the wonderful food we experienced, your's was the absolute most memorable !!!!! We will definitely be telling our friends and planning our next gulf trip around stopping again! Thank you for the wonderful meal and ambiance. Stacey Waldrop

We just arrived home after an incredible meal we enjoyed to celebrate my husband's birthday. Samantha, our waitress, was very knowledgeable and made recommendations that made our meal perfect. All of the waitstaff we observed were so attentive and anticipated every need a patron could have. The food was incredible, drinks were delicious, and the homemade key lime cheese cake made a spectacular finish to our fabulous meal. This was our first experience at Jourdan River Steamer, but will definitely just be the first of many trips we will make to the Kiln.
Terry Prisock Dinner on 11/3/2010 I returned to MS. to visit my aunt and see the Gulf again. My aunt from Picayune and I came to your restaurant and had a great time. The food was fresh and incredible. Some of the best snapper I've ever had. The visit was highlighted by your great waitperson, Samantha. She was knowledgeable, very personable, and very fun! She was the prototype of Southern hospitality and she helped make our visit a delight! I hope to return in the next year or two...Thanks for a great experience. Terry Prisock, Boise, Idaho
Chris Walters 7/22/2010 Look, I came to your business because a friend of mine recomended it. He is usually not trustworthy and full of hot air. I like to bust his bubble and bash anything he recomends only after I have good reason. You guys screwed that up. I had to go back(2 hour drive) and tell him that he was right. Now I have to hear him gloat. Not only that but my wife now is addicted to your food after only one visit. We have told at least a dozen people about it that have never even heard of it. We are going to bring clients there soon and expect the same service and great food. I think our server might have been Chris, not sure, but he was great. Thanks for a great time and even better food, Chris Walters
Lynn Hobbs 7/25/2010 Jourdan River Steamer #1 The best word to describe the food is Phenomenal The Ambiance is Indescribably GREAT, it is a great place to meet with friends for fun and it is definitely a wonderful place to have a romantic dinner. My seating suggestion is near the windows so that you can enjoy the splendors of Mother Nature as you wine, dine and chat. The wait staff always makes you feel at home, their friendliness reflects the restaurant and the owner of whom we have had the pleasure to meet each time we visit from New Orleans. Believe me the drive is worth it and I recommended several visits. Till Soon, Lynn Hank, (The Oil Spill) Just a note to let you know that Dick and I and a whole lot of the Live Steamers who so enjoy the Steamer when we come down in January, are keeping our fingers crossed for you. You guys just can't get a break can you? Didn't make it to Diamondhead either this Jan or last year, didn't miss DH but really miss the Steamer......my favourite restaurant in the USA! Jourdan River Steamer David (Ottawa Canada)
I ate there Saturday night 05/23/09. It was the first time there and wasnt aware that was our destination. Since I'm allergic to seafood and had no antihistimine with me I was forced to order off of the daily specials. The best filet I've eaten in a long time. Great service, excellent food, wonderful mixed drinks (kudos to the bartender). I'm totally hooked.I'll be back but next time I'll bring the benadryl because the crab claws looked awesome. Thanks for a wonderful evening!!!!!!!
Dine.com, November 2006 Well, it was worth the wait for the reopening after the storm! They've hit the ground running and all the months in between melted away. What I love about this place? They don't act like to not have a million fried seafood dishes is a crime! The world does not need another resturant that serves fried catfish. Everything here is fresh and served beautifully with friendly faces. I highly recommend for a well deserved night out! Welcome Back!!! City Guide, Top Class Restaurant 05/14/2006 The Jourdan River Steamer is one of the most unique and fabulous resturant I have come across. The lobsters are fresh out of the tank, the king crab, snow crab, dungenous crab, and royal red shrimp are amazing. I love this place. Excellent food, service, atmosphere.... There doesnt come any better on the Gulf Coast. If you dine there once, you'll keep coming back.
